Wide awake with a bit of time..

Its almost 2 in the morning and I am wide awake. Recently, more like a while, our internet access has been touch and go and I haven't been able to keep up with emails or blogs. I am actually not sure if at the end of this post I will be able to submit.. but MAYBE?? I will try to be quick.

I know I should be taking advantage of Parker being sound asleep and getting rest but I am wide awake. Parker is almost 4 and a half months old and is doing really well. He is still my 'little' guy but is growing and developing with each day and its been so fun to watch and be apart of. I have loved being home with him this summer and am trying to take in each moment as much as I can. He is such a joy. Most recently he has found his feet and his thumb and is become quite the drooler. He is also able to hold and play with his toys and is responding to things like Peek a Boo and is listening to Mama attentively while I sing to him other nursery rhymes. The best is that he is starting to laugh and 'talk' more and more and reach for our faces, especially in the morning. I am so thankful to wake up to his smile and wide eyes looking up at me. It's amazing!! Parker is still wearing some NB and 0-3 month clothes.. but Dan and I have noticed that he has a 'semi-role' on his thigh now which is quite tickle-ish. The last few months have been an adventure for all of us and we look forward to what each new stage will bring. I am sorry to say I don't have a picture to post. I have over 600 pictures but no room on my computer to download them. I am working on it.

Introducing...

I am announcing the arrival of Parker Joseph Moss to the world.  Parker arrived in the world on March 25th 2009 at 6:44 p.m. It was a wild ride to get him here.  Kharvena started having contractions eight days before he arrived. The contractions were strong but not strong enough to induce labor. At times they were even coming 4 minutes apart. But this would not last long enough to make cervical changes. We took many trips to the hospital during this time probably at least 6 times in eight days. But when things did start to progress we knew it. On Tuesday the 24th we went to the hospital thinking that Kharvena's water might have broken and they checked Kharv and told her that she was only at a one but was 80 percent effaced. We went home a little discouraged after this bit of news. We had a easy night then at about 3 a.m. she woke me up letting me know that the pain was pretty bad. Well we had been through this before so we waited to go to the hospital until the contractions had lasted at least three hours. At about 7:30 a.m. we decided to go to the hospital, not only was the pain not going away it was getting much more intense. Once at the hospital they sent us to triage where once checked Kharv was at a 4 and 90 percent effaced. Kharvena cried upon hearing this news because it meant that we were getting admitted. At long last we were going to have a child. After laboring for 12 hours Kharvena did not have the strength to pick herself up in bed so the decision was made to get an epidural in order to be able to push when the time came. At about three they checked her as well and she was at a 7 and 100 percent effaced. After another 3 hours of off the chart contractions it came time to push. After pushing for just a few minutes his heart rate started to drop so they had to put an internal monitor on him to see what was going on. She pushed a bit longer then they had to do something to help him out as his heart rate was getting lower. They had to use the suction to get him out and once his head was out we noticed his cord was wrapped around his neck twice and his body once. They quickly removed the cord and he cried for the first time. It was the most beautiful sound that we have ever heard. After being looked over by the NICU staff he was put on Kharvena's chest for bonding. His weight was 6 pounds twelve ounces and he was 19 and half inches long. We are now trying to adjust to being parents as this is a new experience for us. With that said it has been a huge blessing to have him here with us. We thank you all for your prayers hopefully more blogs and pictures to come. As a side note he will be 21 days old tomorrow.

Almost there...

Just a little less than 2 weeks to go and this week has already been such an interesting one. With 2 trips to labor and delivery under our belt (this week that is) we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Parker. I have been having contractions for some time now and based on their consistency and regularity I am now considered to be in the Early Labor stage. Along with contractions I have lost my mucous plug, am 1 cm dilated, 80% effaced and Parker is low and in position no longer 'bobbing' in my pelvic area. This is all great news and we are so excited to be progressing and that it could be any day now but somehow the waiting game is still a bit hard. At this point we are waiting for the contractions that I am having to be intense and 'unbearable' as they say to know when it is the "right time."

Please be praying for us and for Parker...  Thanks for your support.

Due to recent encouragement...

So I received some recent 'encouragement' from friends that they actually read my blog and would like me to keep up with it. Here is an attempt to do so...

A little over a week ago I had my Baby Shower. It was really a great event and I am thankful for all those who helped make it special by hosting, help prepare details, and all who
attended. It really meant a lot and means a lot to both Dan and I to have you all there and share in our joy and excitement as we anticipate the arrival of baby Parker. It is truly a blessing to have each of you who have walked with me in various times of my life journey with me now during this special time. Each of you have been a blessing in my life and I
am thankful for your love and support, more then you know. Thanks again.

Here are some pics from the day..
Bri made beautiful arrangements and this great diaper cake.

In a 'Thoughtful' state

Well, it is 730 in the morning and I have been awake since at least 515 this morning. I tried to go back to sleep but found that in between my bathroom runs and thoughts I just couldn't fall back to sleep. Trying not to be too loud (I didn't want to wake Dan) I got out of bed grabbed as much as I could from the nightstand and headed to the kitchen. Lately I have been waking up quite thirsty so I poured a cold glass of water and sat down with  a hand full of clementines. Clementines have become one of my favorite snacks being pregnant.. they're delicious.

It's been quiet.. all I can hear are cars driving by and the sound of our clock ticking in the living room. Parker has also been quite active this morning which its always fun to feel him move about. Maybe its the cold water. I can't help but think about the silence and how in only 6 weeks our home will have a different sound and a different feel to it. I am overwhelmed with excitement and am so thankful for the 'quiet time' as well as for the joy that fills my heart in thinking about where God has us and where He is taking us. I look forward to this new journey with Dan and our little boy and pray that God will continue to grow us in Him and reveal Himself to us through this new chapter of our lives and that through this journey we will honor the Lord and take the time to give thanks and praise Him for his amazing love and faithfulness.

My lack of sleep this morning may also have a bit to do with my excitement for the day. Today is a big day. We get to pick up our changing table (finally), we are getting our rocking chair cleaned, and I have my baby shower this afternoon at 2. I can't wait!!! Thank you to all who are involved.. I am excited!

I apologize for the randomness of this entry.. It's early.

Another post re: the shower to come...

It's been a while.. but here's a quick update

I am not sure who actually reads this but for those of you who do sorry it has been a while since my last post. Lately, I suppose I have just made time for other things. Some productive and some maybe not so much. Dan and I are doing well though.. For the first time this Holiday season Dan had time off from work so we had the opportunity to do whatever we wanted. Which was great! We spent time with family and friends doing various low key things.. and spent time just the two of us which was even more refreshing and fun. Most of the time we just 'veged'  purposefully not making plans and played things by ear. We spent time talking about our year recognizing how God has truly blessed and been present in our lives, and discussed what we valued most out of the year. We found that we are thankful for many things one being that our Father is a God that values us.. In addition, we shared thoughts about ways in which we need to be better and diligent as well as shared excitement for Baby Parker and for what God has allowed us to experience thus far with him. And of course for his anticipated arrival in just 3 months... Wow! Dan had his 26th birthday which was also low key but I think he really enjoyed it. He got an XBox360 which has definitely been put to good use in such a short amount of time. It's actually not bad. I haven't won once but I try.. I have learned though that I am a 'side-seat' gamer. I gotta work on that... So, yep we are doing well and are excited for the new journey and are looking forward to what God has planned.

I have some pics of the holiday and new ultrasound pics that are fun that I will post sometime soon..

BLESSINGS this new year to you and your families
